New BAG WfbM deputy chairman elected
Bernd Conrad, Detmold, was elected new deputy chairman of the Federal Association of workshops for adapted work (BAG: WfbM). The delegate conference in Leipzig chose Conrad as successor to Rainer Knapp, Sindelfingen, who left due to personal reasons.

Günter Mosen, chairman of the BAG WfbM, said in his keynote address: „There is no sense in dividing social welfare separate sectors such as service modules, service places or service providers. What is important is that every person, whether disabled or not, receives the kind of support he or she needs. The disabled persons need to learn to take more advantage of their right to choose. If they need support in exercising this right, then they need to receive this support.”

The delegate conference meets once a year. It is the highest body of BAG WfbM. At the beginning of the conference, Günter Mosen reminded the attendants, that the goal of BAG WfbM is “to strengthen the self-determination of disabled people. Many of them have no opportunity to get a job on the open labour market, solely because of their disability. But they have the right to participate in live and in society, and thus in working life as well.“
