Corporate Social Responsibility
The German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has launched the new internet site www.csr-in-deutschland.de. The site aims to make the concept of social responsibility of companies (Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR) known.
The new website states: “If companies take responsibility, the whole society benefits. CSR implies that companies provide more training than necessary for their own needs. Young people who have difficulties are given a chance. Companies which contribute to a strong, cohesive and vital society promote an environment in which they can operate successfully. CSR therefore strengthens the competitiveness of companies.”
In Germany, more and more companies assume social responsibility and integrate corporate citizenship into their business strategy. The new website provides information on the basics of CSR, international principles and instruments as well as on activities of the federal government in this context. CRS stands for entrepreneurial action in actual business activities, ranging from ecological aspects to relationships with employees.
The Ministry of Labour an Social Affairs intends wants to coordinate this process. The current commitment shall be embraced and made visible on the internet by the term of “Corporate Values”. In addition, the Ministry plans to further expand the site and to create a communication platform for companies and the society later this year.
