BAG WfbM coordinates European project
The end of this year marks the begin of a project in which BAG WfbM is involved. The project aims to compare rehabilitation systems that exist in different Member States of the European Union. The project is part of the BAG WfbM’s commitment within the framework of its commitment in the Interest Group on Adapted Employment monitored by the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD).

Several months ago, BAG WfbM filed an application for the project at the German National Agency which is authorized by the European Commission. This application has now been approved. Together with project partners from Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Austria and Portugal, BAG WfbM (representing Germany) will compile a comparison of participation systems existing in all these countries. The time frame set for this task is tow years.

By being coordinator of the project, BAG WfbM will have the opportunity to set the project focuses. The project plan intends a comparison of workshop structures and structures that are similar to workshops for adapted work, complemented by macroeconomic facts in the participating countries. Besides this theoretical work, mutual on-site visits of project partner institutions shall offer practical insights into rehabilitation work on the spot.

The results of this project will be presented in summer 2011. BAG WfbM will inform continuously on the project work.
