Unemployment Figures in Germany
The German Federal Labour Agency reported 3,346,459 unemployed people in September 2009. 166,314 were people with severe disabilities. For comparison: In August 2009, there were 125,054 per-sons more registered as jobless. This means a decline of the unemployment figures of 1.03 percent. The number of unemployed persons with disablities fell by 1,566.

Persons working in “atypical employment forms” were not taken included in these figures. In 2008, about 10.5 million people worked in so-called atypical employment forms; this is almost a third of all persons who are gainfully employed.

According to the Federal Statistics Office, the following employment forms are considered to be “atypical”: temporary employment, part-time employment, minor employment and limited employment.

The figures of unemployed persons with disabilities include only those belonging to the so-called “IT-Procedure” of the Federal Labour Agency. The figures of the 69 communal cost carriers are not included.
