Croatia and Berlin are close by. At least, when speaking of the Workshop:Fair 2011 in Nuremberg. The partnership between the guest country (and EU candidate) Croatia with LAG Berlin (the regional association of workshops in Berlin) will start officially at this fair, taking place from 17 until 20 March 2011.
However, an active exchange on workshop structures and the relevant political developments in these partner countries is already taking place. On 7 and 8 October, representatives of the four parties in charge with organizing this event, the Croatian umbrella association “OSVIT”, the biggest workshop for adapted work in Croatia “URIHO”, the Lankwitzer Werkstätten Berlin and BAG WfbM, met in Zagreb.
The planning of the Croatian presentation at the Workshop:Fair is almost complete. The Croatian Minister of Family, Veterans and Partnership between Generations, Tomaslav Ivić, has already announced his participation at this event. The Minister supports the Croatian federation’s direction of impact and its exchange with the German workshops. He intends to use his two-days-visit at Nuremberg to learn more about the German concept of Workshops for Adapted Work. For instance, he will visit a workshop in Nuremberg. The Minister will also present the current Croatian policy in the field of participation of persons with disabilities and will discuss it with the different experts attending the fair.
